We had the privilege to host the Chief Executive of Oranga Tamariki, Andrew Bridgman and Hon Karen Chhour, Minister for Children. Their visit was an opportunity for us to share the journey of Te Pukaea and Te Reo Karanga — kaupapa that are gently reshaping the way Oranga Tamariki engages with our whānau in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. These initiatives are not ours alone, they are the result of many hands, hearts, and voices working together to ensure that the "front door" of Oranga Tamariki reflects the uara and tikanga of our Iwi. We are grateful for the space to kōrero openly, to reflect on the progress made, and to look ahead at how we can continue to strengthen this partnership for the wellbeing of our tamariki and mokopuna. He waka eke noa.
